While other children were told bedtime stories, Memere would sit on my bed, schooling me in what it was like to be

My earliest psychic memory centers around my sensing the presence of Aunt Mabel
( Memere's dead sister) as we set the dinner table, and my insistence of setting a place for Aunt Mabel and not allowing anybody to sit in her chair. While the other adults chastised my behavior, Memere would simply say "You are
the psychic one", and made the others follow my instruction.
I am a Messenger and a Crossing Guard. I was not with Memere when she died, but at
the moment she died a pure white butterfly landed on my knee and I knew it was her
spirit saying goodbye. From that moment butterflies have become my personal banshees.
Whenever someone is crossing over speckled butterflies land on my arm no matter where I am, even in the depths of winter when butterflies should be gone.
